Autor

Mark Powell is one of the world's leading Business English communications trainers and the senior partner in a specialist language training consultancy based in Barcelona. In his 20-year career he has worked with a wide range of Global Fortune 500 companies as diverse as Nestle, BMW and Credit Suisse. Mark is also a director of a publisher of intercultural communication and language games based in Munich. A dynamic and popular speaker on the international conference circuit, for the last 10 years Mark has also been a top trainer for the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Certificate in Teaching English for Business, training more than 500 intercultural communication professionals from 20 different countries. He also offers the world's only Certificate in One-to-One Language Coaching. Mark's best-selling language and business skills books, including the intermediate and upper intermediate levels of Macmillan's highly successful In Company series, are regularly in use at Pepsi, BP, Citibank, Yahoo, Daimler Chrysler and Exxon Mobil, amongst many others. Mark's main interest, outside Business English, is in all aspects of live performance from classical rhetoric, voice coaching and drama training to Elizabethan theatre, storytelling and stand-up comedy. Simon Clarke has lived and worked in the Basque Country of northern Spain. Married with two grown-up children, he is a director at Lacunza - International House San Sebastian, which provides language services in English, French and Chinese and has over 5,000 students and a teaching staff of over 90. Back in his early career at Lacunza, Simon was part of a two-man team which set up an independent business English unit. They pioneered a Telephone English system of study which is still a popular option for many learners, and has of course developed over the years as technology has changed. The department maintains an excellent reputation with the local business community, working with companies and institutions as well as private individuals. John Allison has designed, sold and delivered professional English courses in France since 1980. After many years of squeezing in teaching between sales and management responsibilities, he is now happy to spend more time in the classroom as a teacher and teacher trainer. He takes a special interest in new technologies and blended learning. He is the author of In Company Case Studies with Mark Powell, and The Business Intermediate, Upper Intermediate and Advanced with Paul Emmerson, Jeremy Townend, Rachel Appleby and Edward de Chazal. Edward de Chazal graduated from the University of London and began his teaching career in Izmir, Turkey in 1987. Since then he has taught English for Specific, Business, and Academic Purposes in several contexts, including Bilkent University School of English Language in Ankara, Turkey, and the Joint Command and Staff College in Kuwait. In London he has been a teacher trainer for Trinity College London's certificate and diploma in TESOL, and as a Trinity examiner for their ESOL spoken and written examinations he has visited a number of countries including the UK and Ireland, Italy, Spain, Hungary and Argentina. Edward is a regular presenter at IATEFL and other conferences, particularly in the field of English for Academic Purposes. From 2002 to 2011 he worked at the University College London (UCL) Language Centre. Edward is now an independent writer, presenter and trainer, and has co-authored the new Oxford EAP series. His most recent project is the creation of new material such as student-facing EAP videos and PowerPoints at his website Jurassic Academic.com. He is the author of Macmillan's In Company 3.0 (A1/Starter) with Mark Powell, Simon Clarke, John Allison and Ed Pegg.
