Autor

Lindsay Clandfield is a teacher, teacher trainer and international author from Canada. He is the main author of Macmillan's new award-winning and critically acclaimed adult course Global (2010) and was a part of the author team for the popular Straightforward Series. Lindsay has won prestigious recognition for his writing, most notably for Global and Dealing with Difficulties (Delta Publishing, with co-author Luke Prodromou) both of which earned him a visit to Buckingham Palace to receive an award from the Duke of Edinburgh. After teaching in Mexico, Spain and the UK Lindsay began his writing career with the website Onestopenglish. He became a regular after winning the Lesson Share competition three times in a row. Kate Pickering is a teacher, trainer and writer based in Madrid. She is the author of workbooks for Expressions, student's and teacher's books for Global Beginner and Elementary (with Lindsay Clandfield) and Communicate, a two-level speaking listening course for sixth-formers, all published by Macmillan. She is a regular speaker at Macmillan teachers' events in Spain and elsewhere and she combines writing with her work as Director of the Adults' Department at International House Madrid and teacher training both in-service and on Cambridge CELTA and DELTA programmes. Jackie McAvoy has been working in the field of education since the 1980s, but not always as a teacher. Having graduated as a graphic designer, Jackie worked for the National Union of Teachers in the UK and for the Malawi Institute of Education in Africa. However, with the advancement of new technology she was reluctant to swap the drawing board for a computer so instead of learning how to use desktop publishing, she decided to become a teacher of English as a foreign language and never looked back. Teaching for over 20 years Jackie has written quite a few books and contributed a number of titles for Macmillan Education. The first one was Essential Reading, a skills book aimed at Asian university students. The latest, co-written with Kate Pickering, was the beginner level of Global, a general English course book for adults.
